Challenge
You want to be able to modify the Content Center so it matches your company standard part numbers, descriptions etc.
Solution
First you’ll need to tell Inventor which type of Content Center you want to use. Select Tools>Applications Options>Content Center. Select either Inventor Desktop Content or Autodesk Vault Server depending on your environment.

Next you’ll need to ensure you have a read/write library available. By default all CC libraries are read only and can’t be modified. After you create a read/write library you’ll be able to customize it.
If you are using the Vault for you CC management then, on the server hosting Vault launch the ADMS (Vault Server) console. RMC on the Libraries node and select Create Library. While you’re in ADMS create a user account for yourself and make sure you have Content Center Editor permissions. After the library is created return to Inventor and select the projects editor and choose the Configure Content Center Libraries button. Add the new library to the project by checking the appropriate box.
