Challenge
When saving an assembly, the following message appears: <filename>.iam has Level of Detail Representation changes, which require a user-named Level of Detail Representation to save them with the assembly file. Would you like to save these changes?
Each assembly has 4 default Level of Detail Representations which are locked. When a component is suppressed while one of these 4 default LOD are active this message will appear allowing you to create a new LOD with a name of your choice. This will allow you to recall this state of the assembly.
Solution
When this dialog appears, select Yes. Expand the Representations folder in the browser. Expand the Level of Detail Icon and select your
new LevelofDetail1, select it again to rename. Save your assembly. Activate the Master LOD and notice that all components are unsuppressed. Activate your new LOD and it returns to your desired state.
Tip: To prevent this message, before a component is suppressed, expand the Representations folder in the browser. Right click the Level of Detail Icon and select New Level of Detail. It will now be the active Level of Detail. Activate the Master LOD and notice that all components are unsuppressed. Activate your new LOD and it returns to your desired state.
