Show Part Number on Part

Challenge:

I would like my part number to show on my part.

Solution:

Create a sketch and use the Text command to enter the Part Number.  Then use the emboss tool to engrave or emboss the part number on the part.

In a part file, create a sketch.  Use the Text tool and enter the part number.  Select the justification and font.  Close you can use the edges of the text object to constrain it to your part.

For flat faces you can use either Extrude or Emboss to give the text thickness, either cut/engraved or extruded/embossed.

For a curved part, put the text on a work plane above the surface.  Then choose the Emboss tool and the Wrap to face option.  Select a face color if desired to make the text standout or appear as a silk screen or painted surface.  If you are going to include this in a mold or casting make sure to add draft.
