Text Wrap in Annotations

Applies to:  P&ID 2010

Challenge
Often the text in an AutoCAD P&ID Annotation is too long and I need the program to be able to wrap the text to fit within a confined space.

Solution
You can do this by setting the multiline width property in the attribute tag.

  1. 1.  In the Project Manager, right click the active project and select Properties.
  2. 2.  Expand P&ID DWG Settings>Expand P&ID Class Definitions>Expand Engineering Items>Select Tanks.
  3. 3.  On the lower right hand corner is the Annotation Area, use the drop down to select the desired Annotation Style.
  4. 4.  Select Edit Block.
  5. 5.  Select the appropriate attribute tag, right click and select Properties.
  6. 6.  In the Properties dialog, change Multiple Lines to Yes and Boundary Width to desired value.
  7. 7.  Close the block editor.
  8. 8.  Select Apply.
  9. 9.  Close the dialog.  Your Annotation should wrap if your text is longer than the set width.
