Create Inventor Add-Ins for Automating Designs

While iLogic is great for simple tasks, as your needs become more complex it may not be enough. These cases are often best handled by creating Add-ins. On a previous KETIV Virtual Academy (KVA), we showed how you could create your own Inventor Add-In using Visual Studio and the Inventor SDK. In this productivity training session, we showcase the new step of creating a basic form in Visual Studio to collect information, make calculations, then add and configure models within Inventor API. Learn how to:

  • Create an Inventor Add-In with Visual Studio
  • Create a basic form in Visual Studio
  • Author parts and assemblies for automation
  • Use logic to calculate and set model parameters
  • Add parts to assemblies using Inventor API
  • Strategies for creating automated model templates
