Inventor Templates Not Showing When Creating a New File

Related Product:
Autodesk Inventor
Step #1: Templates are mapped from the Inventor project file. Make note of the location at the top of the Create New File window. Then, navigate to this location on your local drive and make sure this folder contains the correct Templates folder. For Vaulted templates, you may need to do a “get” from the Vault.

Step #2: Go to File > Manage > Projects. Under folder options, you will see Templates. This can be mapped directly to the Templates folder within your Project File, or it can be set to “Default”.

If it is set to Default, the location is under Tools > Application Options > File > Default Templates.

Solution:

When creating new files, Inventor goes to the mapped template folder and uses those templates to create a new file. If the files are missing from this folder, the ‘create new file’ window shows up blank.
