YouTube Channel Manager

A desktop tool developed by KETIV Technologies to manage the KETIV YouTube channel.

Purpose

What This Application Does

The KETIV YouTube Channel Manager is a command-line desktop application developed by
KETIV Technologies, Inc. to manage the company’s official YouTube channel programmatically.
It connects to the YouTube Data API v3 using OAuth 2.0 and performs the following functions:

  • Playlist management — creates new playlists on
the KETIV YouTube channel and assigns existing videos to the appropriate playlists
    based on their content.
  • Description updates — appends relevant resource
links and calls-to-action to video descriptions to improve viewer engagement.
  • Content analysis — reads video metadata and
descriptions to classify videos into appropriate categories using the Anthropic
    Claude API.

Access

Who Uses This Application

This application is operated by KETIV Technologies to manage KETIV’s own YouTube channel.
Access is granted solely to KETIV Technologies staff authorised by KETIV administrators.
The application connects only to the KETIV Technologies YouTube channel and does not
interact with any other channel or user account.

Data Access

How It Uses the YouTube Account

The application requests access to the YouTube Data API v3 to read and write data
on the KETIV Technologies channel only. Specifically it:

Action Details
Reads video data Titles, descriptions, tags, and view counts from the KETIV channel
Creates playlists New playlists on the KETIV channel only
Assigns videos Adds KETIV videos to their appropriate playlists
Updates descriptions Appends resource links to existing KETIV video descriptions

The application does not access, read, modify, or delete any data outside of the
KETIV Technologies YouTube channel. It does not interact with any viewer data,
subscriber information, or third-party channels.

How It Works

Application Overview

The application is installed and runs locally on KETIV-owned computers. It is not
hosted on any server and has no web interface. An authorised KETIV staff member runs
it from the command line and authorises it once via Google’s standard OAuth 2.0
consent flow. After authorisation, it:

  1. Fetches all videos from the KETIV YouTube channel via the YouTube Data API
  2. Analyses video descriptions using the Anthropic Claude API to suggest playlist assignments
  3. Creates any new playlists required on the channel
  4. Assigns each video to its appropriate playlists
  5. Appends relevant resource links to video descriptions
