Create a Digital Factory Model to Make Informed Decisions
The Factory Utilities included in the Product Design and Manufacturing Collection add purpose-built factory/facility Layout tools to AutoCAD, Inventor, and Navisworks. These tools enable users to plan and validate layouts to ensure the efficient use of space and optimize manufacturing of goods or products. In addition, these tools allow users to collaborate more efficiently with stakeholders by helping combine internal models with models from suppliers, contractors, and or builders so that the project can be coordinated, analyzed, and reviewed before construction begins.
This course will review productivity updates on features and workflows in the latest releases of Factory Utilities. The primary focus of this session will be on taking a deeper dive into the presentation and collaboration aspect of creating layouts using Navisworks. These below topics will guide users in building layouts that incorporate best practices and leverage the right features to design, visualize, and simulate equipment within the context of the facility or factories:
- Factory Utilities Updates on features and workflows in the latest releases (AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks)
- Interface Updates
- Asset Management
- Layout Enhancements
- Factory Layout in Navisworks
- Navigation
- Consolidating/combining models into one
- Positioning Models
- Review and Markup Tools
- Walk-throughs and animation
- Clash detection
- Collaboration with free viewer
This class will build on concepts previously covered in the “Facility Layout and Space Planning” session, which you can watch here:
