Avoid IT Compliance issues now with Vault 2019

One of the hardest things to keep track of in a work environment is whether the data that is being worked with is compliant with the guidelines in place for each business. Wondering if the documents have been reviewed or approved, sometimes the guidelines aren’t outlined clearly which can cause confusion.

With Autodesk Vault, the progress of theses documents and CAD files can be defined with Lifecycles; states within Vault that dictate who can view, who can edit and even who can delete the information that is being worked on. It ensures that the right people have access to the necessary files at the right step in the process by creating a path that the data can follow and only allowing it to follow that path.

With that much information in one location, it is important that it be filtered and presented in real time and that can be achieved with Autodesk Vault’s saved searches. Knowing that the process and the guidelines are being followed is the first step that can be taken to ensure the data being used is compliant, but the next step is to prove that the process is being followed. Autodesk Vault uses a Check in and Check out system that tracks the users that are making the changes and keeps track of any time that the data moves forward in the lifecycle.

This history of the data is not only important to keep track internally, but it is also important for audits. Vault allows for compliance to be one less thing to worry about and makes it easier to keep track of.
