Application Engineer – Structural FEA

A KETIV Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and services for a variety of products used by our manufacturing customers. These products include but are not limited to mechanical design, CAM, electrical controls, simulation, CPQ, and data management software. Our goal is to build and maintain relationships with KETIV’s most valued asset, our customers.
We are looking for someone with experience in Ansys and Autodesk FEA simulation products to join our team in bringing exceptional support to our customers.

Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales support by leading technical discussions with customers to identify their engineering needs and recommending and/or validating simulation solutions to meet those business objectives.
- Provide post-sales technical support to end users for driving customer enablement and software adoption. This may include helping customers with simulation guidance, product training, usage troubleshooting, and software licensing.
- Deliver consulting, training, and other simulation services to KETIV customers. This may include scoping out project requirements and deliverables, developing quotes/proposals, providing design or process improvement recommendations, and writing simulation reports and other technical documents.
- Create lead-generation content for simulation tools highlighting product capabilities and usability for different industrial applications.
- Support the sales team in account growth and pipeline generation activities.
Qualifications
- MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Documented industry experience with ANSYS Mechanical (Workbench) or ANSYS Mechanical APDL or ADSK Inventor Nastran
- Documented FEA experience (industry or publications) in: Structural linear/non-linear static implicit analysis methods (non-linear materials including plasticity and hyper-elasticity as well as contact and large strain/large deformation), and implicit dynamics including linear (modal, harmonic, response spectrum, random vibration) and non-linear (transient) as well as thermal analysis including both steady-state and transient.
- Familiarity with meshing techniques (Workbench Meshing, Mechanical APDL, Hypermesh, or ICEM)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent people skills, patient, and professional attitude
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed for meetings and delivery of services (usually less than 10% of the time).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry or an engineering consulting role
- Documented experience in Explicit dynamics modeling (crash impact, drop test, metal forming simulations, etc.) using LS-dyna, Autodyn, or Abaqus Explicit
- Documented experience in fatigue, composites, reliability analysis
- Experience in ASME pressure vessel analysis, Sections VIII and III, Design by Analysis methods
- ANSYS programming skills, including GUI customization in PyAnsys (Python), MATLAB and ACT
- Familiarity with CFD tools such as Ansys Fluent or ADSK CFD.
